Terms of Service

Agreement to these terms

These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and Hemi (“we,” “us,” or “our”) governing your use of the Hemi mobile application and related services (the “Service”). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use Hemi. By using the Service, you represent that you are 18 or older and that the information you provide is accurate.

The Service

Hemi lets you log meals, bowel movements, symptoms, and treatments; generates simple insights and a shareable report from your own data; and provides related features. We may add, change, or remove features over time to improve the Service.

Your account

To use the Service you create an account using an email address or a supported sign-in provider (Apple or Google). You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Please notify us promptly of any unauthorized use.

Subscriptions and payments

Some features require a paid subscription (“Hemi Premium”). The following terms apply to subscriptions:

• Subscriptions may be offered on a monthly or annual basis, and may include a free trial. Current pricing is shown in the App before you purchase.
• Payment is charged to your Apple App Store or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase, or at the end of any free trial.
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Deleting the App does not cancel a subscription.
• Except where required by law or by the applicable app store’s policies, payments are non-refundable.

Your content and data

You own the data you enter into Hemi. You grant us the limited permission needed to store, process, and display that data solely to operate the Service for you, as described in our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you log.

AI-generated estimates

Some features use artificial intelligence to estimate nutrition from a meal photo or to summarize your logs in plain language. These outputs are approximations and may be inaccurate. Do not rely on them for medical, dietary, or other important decisions without independent verification and, where appropriate, professional advice.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms.
• Attempt to access another user’s account or data, or interfere with the security or operation of the Service.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the App, except where permitted by law.
• Copy, resell, or commercially exploit the Service without our written permission.

Third-party services

The Service relies on third parties, including Apple, Google, Supabase, Anthropic, and Expo. Your use of the App may also be subject to the terms of the app store from which you downloaded it. We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control.

Intellectual property

The App, including its design, branding, and software, is owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for your personal, non-commercial use, subject to these Terms.

Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or accurate.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service. To the extent liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, losses, or expenses arising from your misuse of the Service or violation of these Terms.

Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the Service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will do so.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the App. Your continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of your place of residence to the extent required by applicable consumer protection law, and otherwise by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Hemi operates, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
